Contemporary designer Laura Cowan specialises in Judaica and silversmithing. Working from her design studio and workshop in Neve Tsedek, Tel Aviv she creates unique and original pieces, many of which have been inspired by the 1960’s mission to land a man on the moon.
“Although this was achieved even before I was born, I was fascinated by the hype and excitement generated by the race to the moon. I also loved the irony of a futuristic design based on what is now history”
Laura designed the Seder plate to combine geometric with organic by softening the square shape of the plate with the round indentations. The Seder plate is made from polished aluminium. It measures 12.9" by 12.9". Every seder plate is handmade and is slightly different in shape and no two pieces are identical. Each piece is signed by the artist. Handmade in Israel.
It is not recommended that the Seder plate be placed in a dishwasher. It should be cleaned with a soft cloth, warm water and regular washing up liquid detergent. It will not tarnish although you may wish to re-shine the plate occasionally with silver polish.
