Joel and Candace Bless first began working with hot glass at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the early 1970s. Together they have developed several techniques, including vertical casting and fused blown glass, to create items that combine beauty and functionality.
These clear cast glass candlesticks reveal a six-point star shape when viewed from above. Wavy shapes within the glass reflect the candlelight. The candlesticks come with metal inserts to allow candles to burn out on their own according to traditional custom.
They are about 5" tall and 3" in diameter. All pieces are made by hand by the artists in their Pennsylvania studio. Although sold as a pair, no two pieces are exactly alike.
